2024 NE Ramsey Street Reconstruction IP24-03

A public open house meeting for the 2024 NE Ramsey Street Reconstructions project will occur from 5:30 – 6:30 PM on Thursday December 14, 2023, in the Lake Itasca Room at the Ramsey Municipal Center. The purpose of the meeting is to present information to owners of the properties that are directly impacted by this project, which is proposed to be reconstructed in 2024.
An informal presentation detailing the proposed project, along with funding sources will be shared.

Streets within the Ford Brooks Estates 3rd, Rodeo Hills Estates, Valley View Acres and Section 01 Unplatted 01 north of CR 27 subdivisions have been selected for reconstruction in 2024. Within the two miles that will be reconstructed normal traffic flow is considered to occur.
Concrete curb and gutter will replace the bituminous curing as needed to help with possible drainage issues. This will be furthered explored and updated as necessary during the project design process.
Project Timelines
The proposed timeline from Hakanson Anderson, who has submitted the engineering design for this project, goes as followed.
August 22, 2023 Ramsey City Council authorized to prepare plans and specifications
Sept. – Oct. 2023 Geotechnical investigation and topographic survey performed by Hakanson Anderson
Oct 2023 – Jan. 2024 Plans and specification prepared by Hakanson Anderson
January 2024 Ramsey City Council approves plans and authorizes bidding for project
February – March 2024 Bid opening process and Ramsey City Council awards contracts
May – June 2024 Construction begins
Summer 20024 Construction finalizes

On November 14, 2023; the Ramsey City Council awarded a proposal from Haugo Geotechnical Services to complete a geotechnical report for the 2024 NE Ramsey Street Reconstruction project.
The geotechnical report will require soil borings, all of which will be taken in the streets. Residents can expect to see a soil boring truck and crew members. The streets will remain open to traffic during the soil borings. A firm schedule of when this work will be performed is not known, but you should expect it to occur within the next several weeks.
Part of the survey includes surveying utilities, both municipal and private. Hakanson Anderson will be calling in a Gopher One State locate call for utilities in the area. Residents will likely see paint and flag markings within the project area,
This work being done will assist with design for the future reconstruction of the 2024 NE Ramsey Street Reconstruction. These streets are proposed to be reconstructed in 2024. This work is preliminary, City Council has not approved plans and specifications yet.

On August 22, 2023; the Ramsey City Council awarded a proposal from Hakanson Anderson to prepare plans and specifications for the 2024 NE Ramsey Street Reconstructions. Plans include the Ford Brook Estates 3rd, Rodeo Hills Estates & Valley View Acres, and Section 01 Unplatted (North of CR 27) subdivisions. Plan preparation and design includes completing a topographic survey of the project area.
The topographic survey will be taken across the entire City-owned right of way. This will include survey of the street, curb and gutter, any light poles, signs, trees, landscaping, and driveways up to the right of way. You can expect to see a crew of 2-3 surveyors, and a pick-up truck. The work is scheduled to occur in October of 2023.
Part of the topographic survey includes surveying existing utilities, both municipal and private, such as cable, gas, and electric lines. Hakanson Anderson will call Gopher One State to locate all utilities in the area, so you will likely see paint and flag markings within the project area.
