  • 2016 Street Maintenance Program (IP 16-00)
    • Includes 3 divisions of work (crackseal and sealcoat, mill and overlay, and reconstruction projects) on approximately 19 miles of City streets.
      • Division A – Crackseal and Sealcoat Improvements
        • This work will occur on approximately 16 miles of public streets throughout the City.
        • Work is scheduled to occur between mid-August and September 2nd.

        • Crackseal and sealcoat work was completed August 25th...only street sweeping and striping remain.
      • Division B – Mill and Overlay Improvements
        • This work is scheduled on approximately 4,200 feet of Sunwood Drive east of Sunfish Lake Boulevard/CSAH 57

        • Work is scheduled to begin September 6th and be completed by September 13th, 2016.
        • Sunwood Drive will remain open to traffic during construction.
        • Expect minor traffic delays from time to time due to single lane closures.
      • Division C – Andrie Street and 164th Lane Reconstruction

  • Jarvis Street Reconstruction and RR Crossing Quiet Zone Improvements (IP 15-20)
    • Reconstruction of Jarvis Street was completed in 2015.
    • Railroad crossing quiet zone improvements, including extending raised concrete median islands on both sides of the railroad tracks and widening the street, was completed from late June to early July of 2016.
    • The City of Elk River is applying for establishment of a quiet zone at the Jarvis RR crossing including:
      • Preparing and submitting a Notice of Intent which requires a 60-day public comment period after reviews are completed by BNSF Railroad, Amtrak, MnDOT, FRA, and other “interested partners”.
      • Working with the FRA to verify the crossing is equipped with required constant warning time.
      • Submittal of a Notice of Establishment which requires a 21-day public notice period before the new quiet zone can be officially established.
      • The quiet zone is anticipated to be established by late fall/early winter.

  • Riverdale Drive Extension - Traprock Street to Ramsey Boulevard (IP 16-20)
    • Plans are under development and construction is proposed for 2017.
