COR Infiltration Basin Improvements IP18-09
Updated July 23, 2020
Construction of the improvements was originally estimated to take 60 to 75 days, depending on weather. Construction started the week of July 8th and was intended to be complete by September 30th to meet LRRWMO permit requirements. However, excess topsoil was encountered during construction which extended the project completion date to September 30, 2020. The project must be complete by this date.
The lift station was placed into operation on July 1, 2020. It is in the testing phase. The contractor has been given a punch lit of items to fix before the project can be finalized.
Excess sand that was generated during this project was placed as structural fill on a City-owned property south of Sunwood Drive and east of Zeolite Street to allow this property to be more marketable for development, and to address concerns raised by the Minnesota Department of Health that the ground around the municipal well was depressed promoting stormwater infiltration. The remainder of the excess sand is being considered for fill in the Municipal Plaza area of The COR, north of Sunwood Drive and west of Center Street.
